Delaware Water Gap

We got up early and left Kirkridge Shelter at about 6:30 to hike the final seven miles of Pennsylvania into Delaware Water Gap, which is just across the Delaware River from New Jersey.
Mother Nature had one final treat for us in Pennsylvania, though, as it started raining just as we started hiking. We made good time despite the rain, arriving in DWG as the church bell tolled nine o’clock.
I took the opportunity to eat a big breakfast at the Water Gap Diner and pick up a few resupply items. Other than that I’ve been sitting in my room at the Pocono Inn reading a book on my Nook while the rain continues outside. I really enjoy the Nook and recommend it to anyone looking for an electronic book reader. It’s great to be able to read on the trail.
Tomorrow morning I’ll get up early and head into New Jersey. It’s always exciting to cross into a new state!

About The Man in My Shoes

Since retiring in 2012 I am enjoying the freedom of being able to make my own decisions about how I spend my time and am taking advantage of the opportunities that I have to spend more time with my family, explore, learn, and pursue my dreams and goals. I look forward to writing about these pursuits and hope you enjoy reading about them.
