I Have My Own Gap!

Thank you US Forest Service!

i got dropped off this morning at 7:15 by Andrea, who drives a shuttle for The Hike Inn. I walked for about 2.5 hours to Fontana Dam, to the Great Smoky Mountain National Forest (GSMNP from now on), and passed through Walker Gap. Imagine my surprise!

About The Man in My Shoes

Since retiring in 2012 I am enjoying the freedom of being able to make my own decisions about how I spend my time and am taking advantage of the opportunities that I have to spend more time with my family, explore, learn, and pursue my dreams and goals. I look forward to writing about these pursuits and hope you enjoy reading about them.

This is more trail magic I think. You are really in the big forest now (GSMNP).

Hold on to your socks, when you get into Virginia you have a tunnel named after you too. Big Walker Mountain Tunnel, just outside of Bland, Virginia.
